RECAP: CALIA LAUNCH, EMPORIUM

New stylish kid on the block, Calia, ups the ante in Melbourne's dining scene when it comes to their exciting and premium retail and restaurant experience.

From its location to the gorgeous interior fit out and the products on offer, everything about Calia exudes luxury and quality. Using the best produce at hand and curated by culinary mastermind and Michelin Star chef Francisco Araya, the menu reads like a treat and immediately plants in mind a strong desire to visit. A wide range of premium ingredients like truffle, premium wagyu cuts and gold condiments (golden mustard, anyone?) are available for purchase in the adorning retail space. The cherry on top comes in the form of tasty sweet treats available for purchase to go or consumed in house by Melbourne favourite Bibelot.

During their recent launch event, we were treated to a tasty array of canapés, which only cemented my hankering to return for a proper visit. Soon. Most definitely. Watch this space.

canapes:

  • Fresh Queensland scallop - with sturgeon caviar and cauliflower puree.
  • Robbins Island wagyu - with fresh ginger-garlic and shiso.
  • Salmon tataki - with miso mayo and Ikura.
  • Fried tempura - with tomato mung beans and spinach, topped with guacamole and handmade chips.
  • Calia sweets by Bibelot.
