A hearty, warming and comfort-rich feed seems to work magic when it comes to coping with Melbourne's unrelenting winter chills. Luckily for Melburnians, Arbory Eatery has teamed up with Meatsmith and Sommelier Raul Moreno Yagüe to come up with the goods again this winter with their Arbory Winter Roast Collection series.
Priced at a mere $25 per person, diners can enjoy a roast and glass of wine pairing all throughout winter. June saw the hero-ing of pork, while beef and lamb take centre stage this month and next respectively, with the cuts/dishes also changing on a weekly basis. During our visit a few weeks ago, we were served a very generous serving of tender Bourbon Glazed Pork Ribs accompanied by some velvety smooth potato mash, crispy parsnip chips, Bourbon BBQ sauce and a glass of Nocton Pinot Noir. I repeat, $25. The glaze was of finger lickin' delicious quality but using your hands was not necessary - given the succulent texture of the ribs, the meat tore away from the bones with minimal effort. Oh, and be sure to leave room for some dessert - you won't want to miss their pear tarte tatin!
