COOK AT HOME: ATLAS MASTERCLASS PERU [ATLAS DINING, SOUTH YARRA]

Following the cessation of dine-in services during the stage 3 iso restrictions that took place in recent months, many in the hospitality industry had to think on their feet and devise new strategies to stay afloat. While takeaway fast became the new norm for most who stayed open, others like Atlas Dining offer heat or cook at home meal kit options. Enter, Atlas Masterclass.

I visited Atlas Dining back in 2018 during their Peruvian menu run, and not only did I learn that there was more to Peruvian cuisine than just ceviche, but that it’s also super delicious! So much so that the restaurant landed in my top 10 food adventures of that year. Taking a similar approach to their dine-in menus, Atlas Dining’s Masterclass series also rotates through different cuisines, highlighting a new country each week. Each series covers three meals, and includes an ingredient box (choose from single, couple or family sized), video tutorials and written instructions to take you through the preparation and cooking of each meal. Super easy peasy. After seeing Peru appear as an upcoming masterclass, I immediately whipped out the credit card. A no brainer, and with the generous portion sizes in the couples box, we ended up with more than three meals sorted that week. And most importantly, the meals were memorable, tasty, and a welcome departure from the usual flavours that feature in my kitchen at home.

At the time of writing this post (June 2020), Atlas Dining have recommenced dine-in services and continue to offer masterclasses.
