Much like everyone else, the words fast food will immediately conjure up images of burgers, pizzas and fries in my mind. At BEN'S Supernatural, there's burgers, pizzas and fries on the menu, but it's fast food not as we know it. It's all healthy. Yes, you read correctly. Healthy fast food is a thing and it's actually tasty.
Adding to the usual list of fast food culprits, there is also quite an extensive selection of salads, wraps, breakfast goodies, protein balls, smoothies and juices.
Visiting on a warm day, the Bam Bam smoothie, featuring a blend of banana, blueberry, acai powder and coconut water was refreshing and vibrant in flavour.
Far from a boring salad, the quinoa tabouleh was flavoursome, with quite a herbaceous punch from the mint, parsley and coriander; the flavours further taken up a notch by the red onion and lemon dressing. For further sustenance, I opted for a serving of sliced, tender beef steak.
Pizzas and burgers come with the option of low carb or gluten free buns/bases. The lamb pizza was topped with a good amount of pulled, slow roasted Moroccan free-range lamb shoulder, low fat mozzarella, roast pumpkin, spinach, coriander and tahini sauce.
The baked sweet potato chips with rosemary and garlic are an absolute must order. There was so much crunch that it was hard to believe they were not fried... and healthy!
When healthy tastes this good, even the non active wear community will be pleasantly surprised!
